how are you, ________? 

i can’t fight to say these words to ask you while allowing myself to temporary stop for a moment and know how are you doing.  i can still recall yesterday how we meet.  those dreams came true and how glorious we found each other that day at the right place and at the right time.  that perfect moment our life joined as one and creates the best memory we had. 

you know how i cherish each day with you.  the dream i draw of all that you are to me that cannot be expressed.  if only you could see that world i am shaping for you, i wonder how my life would be without you in it.  i remember, everyday you take time to listen to me, talk to me, smile at me, laugh with me, and have fun with me.  now, how hurt i heard you found someone and settled down.  one of the hardest things can’t easily be accepted and believed that the love we made came so suddenly changed.

but, nevermind about me, i’ll be fine.  though it hurt, i am happy to found knowing that i once had you and then lost you.

courtship punishment

time swift unnoticed so as youth unlikely slipping and after all the years of labor to fulfill a reliable way of living, it’s time that i decide to settle down and have a family of my own.  except having said than done, how will i be able to reach that if not coursed thru by courtship—an amusing affair to engage with that i perceived it as a waste of time, why?

primarily because on each date, both go out for an exquisite dinner, offer sweets, flowers everyday, good grooming and behavior; so as any other type of surface acting that is temporary expresses sincerity to a strong feeling of passion.  then, once the stage of courtship chooses to settle permanently, either one of the two lovers opt to announce farewell—an awful memory haunts one’s nightmare; recalling the time and resources spent, all’s gone to waste.

what about, let’s skip the courtship engagement and move to a fixed relationship method of attack on my first date?  how can it be more heartfelt to see i declare about a dream family, future plans, stability to face any challenges, and certainty the two of us will overcome; will that prove to express a realistic sense of devotion?

as expected, even if i try this approach, she finds it weird and absurd.

though it’s odd for us to receive letter from anyone unfamiliar, may this simple gesture reach you safe and comfortable. i can see that you’re mystified to look at the name behind this message, so, allow me to provide a minute of your time to hear me out and i’ll bare myself eventually.

i am attracted to you. every minute we crossed path, a sudden impulse of magnetism pull me down. my world that  was once fixated with occupation overtime suddenly came to a halt when you are near with that smile. your name, your look, your scent, always captivated my concentration and formed an angel in my dream. pathetically insane you may pronounce, yes, indeed and i admit—not to mention i’m always defeated to watch you from a distance. for i can’t utter a word to express myself with only a brave noble demonstration of affection come in the form of letter such as this.

now, even if i completely declared my feelings, i yearn for so long that you may someday hear, you may opt to forget everything and be on your usual day. perhaps you don’t find it with common interest so i will return alone to my desk as well. but, if my love found way in your attention, give me a sign ________, and i’ll be delighted to recall this moment the day you accepted my presence.

family affairs

there is a hole in the family relationship when a dispute to find truth and reason arose among members between an elder sibling (panganay) against their younger sibling (bunso), whose side should be sensible and sympathetic enough to rationalize the situation?

a "panganay", who considered next in line of the elders and expected matured enough to understand the entire condition of the family; or, a "bunso", who is fresh to learn the meaning of life and on the way to reality that gives support to the family.  the same scenario also goes with of a parent and a child—who among the two follows the truth and who has the reason?

between the two parties even if there is an arbiter, none of them is right or wrong which is nothing really matters.  so, who decides reason then?  whose truth needs to be followed?

as i’m on my way home late night from work, i came to see this peculiar thing at the sidewalk—a mini glass ship in a bottle.  what captured my interest on this object is not the item per se but by who created it.  i learned from the vendor that it was made by an ex-convict.  after careful reflection, i realized that it’s not easy to cover up and be accepted again from past mistakes against the society that demands his silence; and, by merely exhibiting this piece of art to the world symbolizes that they too have a room to start a new life and be counted again among us.

sequence of events

imagine that everything around us is fainted black and our understanding of the whole thing is totally empty.  what are we then?  obviously nothing.  from the period we’ve been delivered into this outside world, our eyes fancied at all the miracles mankind could offer and a sensation of unpredictable end is yet we alone need to discover.

we’ve been nurtured and guided by our so called parents starting from simple etiquette to household chores, a basic ingredient to accept responsibility as well as to become a well mannered citizen.  since we can no longer remain as a child and our potential requires modern comprehension and further abilities that a simple family incapable to award, they send us to an institution, an inescapable decision drifted behind bars in a place we called second home and teachers we labeled as our next parents.  at school, we are not just learned all about arts and sciences of arithmetic, grammar, literature, and other unheard of subjects; but as well as cheating, dishonesty, indifference, and the rest that we tried to hide from others somewhat changed the views we believed then.  from kindergarten toward college years on the way to job search, a once known snotty innocent toddler that had turned to a prim class student is now a crafty competent professional, capable enough to haze at the doorstep of our community who now continue to extend finest assistance to the society they served with a principal character of prime respectable quality to survive at work they belong.

we begin to select what we recognized as worth and beneficial to us; and, remove what we discern as opposing to our decision—a familiar state that we never intend to happen somewhat appeal us to move in that different motion of choice.  soon, retirement place us in the condition that we can no longer capable of functioning which brings us back home for isolation—a general state of issue "how did i serve my life well"?

on this sequence:  we experience life homewards—the actual feeling we get pleasure from; the university develop us to become obedient and compelled; and, our occupation shape us to be shrewd and restless.  this crusade somewhat offer us an opportunity to exist temporary and complicates our life as we continue the will to live and survive yet left us meaningless in due course; or, we have the capacity to bend our destiny to any direction we set forth.

face it, we are not born equal:  wealth, good looks, intelligence, and any other illustration that would describe the opposite favor.  except the difference in us may also be an arrow to win the imagined target.  picture yourself in search for a career in business office for example.  you desire for a position equivalent to your earned degree.  upon application, you observe numerous candidates on your way to this challenge:  their years of experience and educational attainment unacquainted to you that somewhat appalled it may seem test your wit and dream. 

i see two situations to be accepted, if:

            1.  you possess the required qualification; and,

            2.  you have a different capability.

when you’re accepted having item one on your pocket, congratulations, a bargain will be yours similarly.  what about the difficulty of not being comprised to this condition?  “search another luck of course”.—the most predictable on all human expression.  if can only sense that all big dreams came from small beginning there’s another way to have a dream on board.  to get a fresh start, apply at the lowest position you deemed fit—a data entry for instance.  we understand it is obviously out of your key to be on that level but to see its potential to climb the ladder of success, one needs to be patient.  what if the ladder does not suits you?  then use the elevator.

it is not hopeless an invitation from the top office may require a suitable vacancy you choose to apply someday.  while you continue to blend the allot offer, all the experiences and skills you gathered now are prepared to compete the untaken post; and, you may now win the opposite favor.

who deserves a plate?

several reactions crossed each reader’s attention while observing the difference state served on each plate.

life cannot be anything until it is lived.  we take responsibility for all our actions.  thus, we decide our own destiny or even choose what end we wanted to be.  don't put the blame if you see prosperity on your neighbors, they deserve that.  no one knows how they obtain such achievements like you and i accomplished:  education, work, family, friends, livelihood, et.al.

let's separate ourselves from those who can still remember their struggles and became as what they are now; to those people who merely waiting for grace and stroke of luck yet remained static.  as what most people say: "'hindi bale nang tamad, huwag lang pagod"—'it's fine to be lethargic than exhausted', is reasonable; or, "'hindi bale nang pagod, huwag lang gutom"—'opt to be exhausted than starving', is feasible?

who shall prevail?

it can be said that "what women wants, women gets" can definitely ignite the query of that assertion.

having observe the elegance of their beauty—their awesome styles and lucid looks, will definitely capture the very heart of every men and allure us under their control for sure.  as a result, resisting is impossible to their bidding.  true perhaps, women are extremely dominant.

except, are they who are the most influential:

a woman trust "what women wants, women gets"; or,

a man who can give everything what women wants?

why are we here? as a company, as a team

it is important not to confuse the "why" with the "how" an individual or entity creates an overall impact to achieve excellence.


in every action i take, my responsibility affects the behavior of my team and of the organization.

i carry the weight of accountability; determine the success or failure of my team; and, often shape the fate of our organization.

as a finance and administrative assistant, i play a significant role in which i aim to provide excellent service performance and high quality output to all sectors of the organization.

in this perspective, my function must attract and deliver superior value by meeting or exceeding our client (internal or external) expectations to hit the purpose of certainty with peace of mind and claim the tagline: "when you need to be sure".

unacceptable truth

we were born and raised in a common ideal form of belief that creates an attitude of confidence that each one of us understand and trust.  a belief embodied ourselves in the direction of what we learned and applied to become more civilized being has become a stage of our behavior.

 an unknown author wrote:

watch your thoughts as they become words;

watch your words for they become actions;

watch your actions as what they become habits;

watch your habits and they become your character;

watch your character then it becomes your destiny.

so, if i express my genuine humanity through out my behavior, i will no longer deceive myself; and, honesty then will no longer my ideal but my very being?

 

from the moment we learned the value of this simple phrase, by purely choosing a few virtues to strengthen a moral principle we knew of, set to carry out, and lived by; a fresh outlook of a new persona has been established.

except, once we demonstrate the newly acquired persona of our norm to the public, they laughed at us, they hate us, they despise us, ridiculed us, tripped us off on to our knees!  and, with no one seems to listen, we left into isolation, pondering what went wrong?

as we sit at the corner, viewing from the beginning that we were born and raised in a common ideal form of belief that creates an attitude of confidence that each one of us understand and trust..

sex differentiated preferences

according to a research study of some authors, when it comes to defining the choice of selecting a partner to both sexes of male and female perspectives, each were primarily draw differently to a stage where both none complied; then, somehow equally rallied to a period—a break even point, where the two species can both now accept, tend, and have a similar response at each other in every respect.

in a male's perspective of choosing a female partner, a woman's character is considered less significant to a young breed; and, only appears central when a male reached his age of maturity.

the preferences are extremely ideal in selecting a partner for a woman with an earlier age; then, decreases after realizing the fact of not getting any younger.

by combining each attributes, the two distinct individuals shows there's a certain period wherein a mutual feeling will be  matched; and, with that given proper age, an assessment will be formed.

what people said and did in choosing a perfect partner were a different matter is certainly i am not concerned of.

as the late noble prime minister winston churchill states to his retreating british army against the advancing german forces cornering their way out at dunkirk, "live today, fight tomorrow!"; we, the corporate slaves, a composition of highly trained and specialized individuals dedicated to make any businesses achieve its corporate niche, i say, "work hard today, and file a leave tomorrow!", for a worth deserving pause and unequaled merit.

the supremacy within human imagination

it can be said that the only place where there are absolutely no limitations is in our mind through imagination.  since it has no physical reality, people tend to seat themselves to a position in a contrasting states do not.  by simply closing your eyes for a moment and start to imagine, you can vision anything you want.

visualizing somewhat to be a manager overlooking the business operations, having an exquisite romantic date with someone, extravagant vacations, a powerful don, characterized superhero and all sorts of imagination to form a mental representation of that thing.  however, ways of imagining things differs from and resembles other mental states that may play in human understanding.

according to such accounts, dreaming is often characterized to the idea of imagination.  although dreams do involve mental imagery rather than perceptual experiences, they may also involve belief—that is, when a person imagines objectually, he situate himself in a state of make-believe or pretending.  to imagine in this sense is seeing a person resting in his boss’ chair when the latter is out of the office for example.

sometimes, dreams are like fictions where we become so deeply engaged that we lose ourselves and thereby form beliefs—as when we engage by simply watching a movie, reading a novel, or playing on-line games, we take certain things to be imaginary or true in that fiction.

it is widely accepted that imagination, fiction, dream or belief range over similar in term but different in meaning, perhaps ranges of content.  but, when we try to analyze this simple diversion, everything in our physical world is the byproduct of our imagination; that is, the thing we imagine has now become our physical reality—that is, what we believe determined the actual world of what we imagine.  thus, in the context of imagination, whatever can be conceived is possible to achieve, and whatever possible can be conceived.

Denise, i heard you are your class valedictorian.  i’m not here to tell you to soar high, or be the best of what you can be, or any of that.  but what i do wish to share with you is a dream of my own and how hard work really does pay off.

i have always loved to go to a university, have a career and hold a fine life.  but, i had a tough time during my youth right after your lolo and lola decided to get separated.  the elevator that supposed to bring me to my success is out of order so i decided to walk the stairs each step one by one to reach my destination.  it reminded me of my struggles and my unwavering goal that inspired me to work hard and to challenge myself everyday before i become of what i am now, Denise.

i want to impart to you remarking words from the great Muhammad Ali:  “suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion”.  so, at times i go through a test, and it wasn’t easy, and expect that it wasn’t always fun; but ultimately it all paid off because i have earned what i aim.

and now, as you go your own way to high school, my message to you is simple, “rise to be a champion”.  work hard, challenge yourself, never stop learning and have fun; use your skills and your own tools to become a champion; use your talents to your advantage.  remember, champions make their own luck, so go and “rise to be a champion”, my child.

which is more expensive: education or ignorance?

any man who walks without any sufficient knowledge to whichever agreement he enters whether if it is an attractive investment opportunity, city ordinances, job placement, or even simple equaled relationships, although equipped with enough resources, abilities and passion will definitely end fruitlessly.

your ignorance is their power.

knowledge or education provides the best defense against ignorance.  but how can we simply avoid ignorance if there are enormous information, laws and policies ahead of us we’re trying to keep up?  i agree that we can’t possibly know everything.  how can we be ascertained to how many of these above mentioned facts mechanically broken everyday or been put into practiced?  the difficulty of ignorance is not about knowing it all, rather knowing the right information.  understand that there are certain bodies of knowledge that you simply must learn.  when you agree to accept certain condition, you are expected to comply, learn, and strive to become an expert in what you do and by then you gain knowledge.

adequate knowledge can prevent mainly problems most of the time, as for ignorance to a particular subject may result to trouble, harassment, defeat and even death in which a matter of no excuses.

anyway, either we believe it or not and no matter what is the newscast is, we always placed ourselves as a gambler who takes a certain risk for an uncertain gain.  even if there are as many chances on one side as on the other, we are playing for the same odds.  for the reason that the certainty of what you are risking is equal to the uncertainty of what you may win.

time is lethal when you start to become really afraid of death that you learn to appreciate life.  for the wonders of life grips momentarily as time takes its course to steal away that happiness and eventually leaves behind with only memories.

a considerable portion of people are following christianity—its tradition and belief that jesus christ is the son of god, god having become human and the savior of humanity; from which the foundation of rome about christ’s teachings paved way for people with something to depend and believe in.  it was quite unusual in fact that I was raised in that understanding as a roman catholic with a fixed background not to ask its root or attempt to question with what I have seen or known.

even though, in search of formal conception, I arrive with sam pascoe which he states that, “christianity started out in palestine as a fellowship; it moved to greece and became a philosophy; it moved to italy and became an institution; it moved to europe and became a culture; and, it came to america and became an enterprise.”

quite a few interesting enquiries spin my mind about the formation of its humble fellowship to its general practice until I pull in a map, which denotes history tells us that roman rule extent their empire and reached jerusalem where jesus was born.

rome back then was viewed as one of the earliest civilization where success depended on military conquest, commercial predominance, as well as selective assimilation of neighboring civilizations.  right after the collapse of the roman empire in 190AD, the vatican state precedes early christians and adherents around the globe and turned christianity as one of its founding legacy which led to colonization and missionary.

if we attempt to examine, given that buddhism started in the 6th century BCE and with christianity only began 2,000 years ago, was there a possibility that our religion would turned buddhism if rome continued to expand east and reached mainland china?  with the vatican’s appeal to christ’s sponsorship for his divinity, will rome also promote siddhartha gautama or buddha in any case—if rome found buddha a bit earlier than christ?  can’t rome endorse their own god and they were easily captured by any man miles away?

it is not important if a man adopt religious virtues and following religious customs at this point.  It is central to have faith and belief of what you have learned is right or wrong as a human being.

it has been fifty years when man journeyed into space with an impressive achievement since the invention of the wheel.  curiosity that lead his persistence to seep in to the unimaginable point of optimism with the aim of creating an avenue of visible break into another generation.  once again, man demonstrated his potential in developing a means to achieve and exceed his limit for the purpose of further discovery with an exemplary status of man as a thinking man, an exceptional being, an avant-garde.

all men centered their attention on that first launch of vostok 1 on April 12, 1961 to space, an unforgettable memory.  followed by numerous attempts and flights of certain space missions from various countries globally from then on known as space race.  with the concept of communication, navigation, forecast, and research; artificial satellites have been send off orbiting the world.  thanks to satellites, our technology now is in its premium niche with advanced and sophisticated means to satisfy own's reverie:  internet connections, voice and data transmissions, scientific research, remote navigation control, entertainment, et.al.  so as breaching the gap of re-discovering our world we lived in, a fact that we have reached the final human destination, i suppose.

on december 30, 1983 when IRAS satellite discovered a mysteriously heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet jupiter, astronomers from different nations sets their telescope, gazing at the stars, and searching for its authenticity.


18 years after, news spread about this new line of the story:  nibiru—a threat or another piece of discovery.  with an attempt to fickle the mind, people saw the possibility of its existence and its impact that even hollywood created a movie about this end of the world.  how drastic we envision ourselves in perfection and enhancement yet so transitory and that all started in sending man in to space.

i can still recall my first memorized poem i learned that i found printed from an old ruined wall on my alma mater when i was in my fifth grade.  the antiquity of its message back then is still fresh and charming these days and new.  silly, but it's true.

i was with my former fiancée at Baclaran church that afternoon waiting for Wednesday's mass to begin.  the area was overwhelmingly crowded with people and the hall was full of devotees with no available seats to occupy.  obviously, standing is the only option to choose.

at that moment, we decided to buy something to munch while waiting.  we came to a nut vendor and ordered a handful of peanuts "mani" to bring.  suddenly, a beggar come up to me dressed with tattered shirt and stretched his hand for some alms.

his eyes are peaceful with his face grown sad.  the hair gradually disappear and you can notice those missing fangs.

immediately i offer him my "mani" and was surprised when he refuse to accept it.  instead he demand for a coin then i said,

"Manong, maniwala ka sa akin na mas matigas pa 'yung barya kaysa sa mani".
"Sir, believe me this penny is more tough than this peanut".

i do not have a slightest idea why he turned his back and leave with an expression of grouch in his face.

any extreme sport is not open to all.  anyone who yearn to this activity must understand the risk they intend to engage in.  fractures, sprains, abrasions, contusions, and even head injuries are frequent among extreme enthusiasts. when employing styles and tricks, a player should consider three central view points before applying the manner into action: mind, body, and spirit.

key performance indicator: mind, body, and spirit

the mind of the player should always be clear headed aiming for one purpose of execution.  he must not think of anything that could distract his attention and jeopardize his objective.  an absolute aptitude of knowing what and how exactly will he carry out his means without error is a requirement.

according to Morpheus, "the mind won't survive without the body".  since the mind interacts with the body, any ideal preparation for triumph will not be possible if your body is not in a good condition to play.  if you're stubborn and just want to show off besides your given weak state, injury is projected.

spirit is the extensive force that boost the inner self to its awakening and make things impossible into reality.  the exact momentum every player needs to overcome any edge of limitations.


these three: mind, body, and spirit creates the discipline each player needs to take on.  the absence of one can peril one's enjoyment.  without proper understanding on this order, you'll be going round and round the obstacle course covered with sweat and weary without a single sign of crafted accomplishment at hand as well as disappointment in heart.

no matter how intricate and perilous the sport is, the utmost important is it gives each player a sensation of deep self satisfaction and somehow creates a pledge of respect and value by others and to oneself.

why do we need to see what comes next to the sequel of the story?  why do we have to bother?  is it not enough to witness and be inspired to believe that everything turned right as what should be expected?  that nothing can be changed?  nothing can get wrong?  nothing? never?

in every fairy tale lies the hidden truth, that there is no happy ending or eternal joy.  that life we are setting in this world we struggle is just a bliss for a moment and eventually leaves us empty in the long run.  sooner or later, we need to face and accept the truth that everything results to nothing.  even no matter how difficult we try to give the best that we can be to resist the unexplainable test of the universe, eventually it will turned nil.
 

see yourself holding hands with a loved one, walking in the moonlight, sharing dreams of a lovely family both of you are excited to build and this tragedy comes unexpectedly; you are a well known celebrity, highly dignified and envied by others but the nightmare of the past, maltreated since childhood or so, that still haunts your inner self; eager to have a decent home but ended in ruins; always feared of being jobless; so on and so forth.

these are some of the countless episodes of life's shattered dreams, losing hopes, broken hearts and common anxieties.  and, what comes next?  reality strikes to its course knowing that we all left alone to emptiness.  but, there is a key to this gridlock that i mention in my quote.  a passage that will inflict the trick to this wicked world we lived in.  when you "learn to lose anything, you will definitely do everything. then there is nothing that can hurt you, move you, or stop you".

if we can teach ourselves to accept not to grasp too dearly on things that matters us most, we can assure that we can still continue on whatever activity we are doing without slip, without weep, without pause.  and, earn yourself the guarantee to stay happy thereafter.

the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.  we all do know its empirical truth and this passage has also a succinct relevance on setting man's success and direction.  from this principle, learning that came from experience brought a solid foundation on man's realization of truth and knowledge—the fact that i went through started to acknowledge life is not that simple as it appears to be.

for example, man's desire to achieve a certain goal places his position to learn, to be reasonable, and to accept reality of the facts on his undertaking.

in every action that has been made creates a wide variety of wisdom a man encountered.  obstacles that build tension slides one's determination to move forward but somehow cause an instantaneous brisk of force to continue.  all in all when surrounded with enthusiasm, passion, and will can overcome any hindrances that obstructs the way. thus, a conclusion has been made about time spending, hardships of ups and downs, and crushing experiences of this pleasurable journey to victory. see illustration 1.

after the line of success has been accepted and applied to all, some men often contest and ridicule their own kind.  they pragmatically pronounce their own reputation as the finest than the earlier entrant who is not worth to be acknowledged.  to make the matter worst, they claim more knowledge than can be proved so as give names to things that just only exist within their imaginations.   and, when chose to challenge the existing system with their own verse of procedure, they hastily geared up and set forth. see illustration 2, depicting the course of the contender in red, carrying out their own strategic plan looking forward to exceed the aforementioned established set of direction.

if we stretched the red line paralleled to the other, measured and weighted as shown in illustration 3, it appears that the challengers took more time to beat the instituted structure. an uttered defeat.  proven that one must listen, learn, realize, and consider other's viewpoint first in order to attain the same success and direction of these great men's noble life journey.

if the normal body temperature increases and a feeling of cold which results to shivering, a fever is definitely expected.  several pack of medicines, dosages of relievers, and scented ointments to apply as preventive measure are necessary to ease the sensation.

but why worry much if you have a job?  you're complacent that you're insured with your medical benefits shouldered by the company you're working at:  hospitalization, medical assistance, physical examination tests, et.al are absolutely free with no charge!  it's fine to get sick after all.

but, what if one member of your family who's unexpectedly affected by this sudden illness?  that someone who did nothing but cause for headache, fussy to feed, don't want to go to work or colleges, a troublemaker, and frequently changed relationships?!?  sheesh!

now, i'm sick!  i guess, i need to apply for a memorial plan instead.

it's about time

now, that we're living in today's civilization of advanced knowledge and expertise compared from earlier eras of dim and mayhem, suppression of interests or views are still being practiced by someone in control.

is it imperative to be always directed by their rules and regulations?  are our realization and expertise not enough to bring sufficient evidence?  or, are we not blessed to exist in this modern times that we too can create a better adjustment for further improvement to any given system or situation?

the evidence is clear:  most often, no matter how desirous we opt, someone who is in charge of our actions deferred our choice—never a decision for us to make.
